Some key ingredients in almost all sunscreens- OXYBENZONE and OCTINOXATE, have been linked to killing coral and damaging coral reefs. Octinoxate is not only listed as a direct cause of of coral bleaching, but studies show that it is absorbed into the skin and acts an endocrine disrupter that can mimic hormones. Oxybenzone, aka Benzophenone-3 penetrates the skin and also helps other chemicals to penetrate. It is also directly linked to coral bleaching. A sunscreen made with degradable glitter but isn't reef-safe is pointless, so it is a joy to introduce this new creation.
It's easy to forget to re-apply our sunscreen sometimes but it is so important to protect your skin. A shimmery alternative that's still ocean-safe makes applying sunscreen fun and exciting! It leaves a ton of shimmer and 30 SPF protection with no other residue and protects you from the sun for up to 80 minutes (in water).
